Literally, I am working on translating a Phildar pattern for these cute diaper covers.

The front is knit in one piece, then separated into 3 different pieces for the decreases and then knit as one from the middle of the legs up through the back. For some reason, I couldn't quite grasp the separation of the front. I kept thinking that I had to cast off at both sides and then of course the numbers weren't quite working out, they were double to be precise. After, you look at the chart and then calculate your numbers and give up on your preconceived ideas of how it should work, the pattern begins to make sense.
In other news, I succeeded in catching a cold. I think the worst is over, I just have a stuffy nose and feel a little draggy. I keep picturing going into labor and trying to use the breathing techniques we learned in class. Let me tell you since I can't breathe through my nose it won't happen, I will pass out. So I am hoping she sticks to her timeline and doesn't come early (or at least not for the next couple of days).
No pictures to show. No much new on the knitting front, other than the completion of the blossom blanket on the bias. In order to counter the lack of progress I have decided to order my projects by age ;) So I am working on the long strip of stockinette (aka the papoose), then the phildar sweater and diaper cover, next comes the fluffy pink sleeper and the matinee jacket. Hopefully, she won't outgrow anything before I finish it.
Oh we are definitely not going to have a complete house prior to her making her entrance. The outside is mostly complete, the inside is textured and painted but the minor details like the floor, cabinets and tile aren't even started. This weekend I am dragging my poor sorry husband for a weekend of picking out everything that is left (doorbell, light fixtures etc) so if the girl decides to make an early entrance we won't slow the progress down.
I think the best thing about all of this is that I am off for 6 months! So between the nesting (cleaning everything that gets in way) and prep for the house I have been pretty busy. Definitely no time for work!!!
