Well I survived a 2 year old's birthday, a bachelorette party, bridal shower and a wedding in the time I have been away. So I am planning on enjoying a nice weekend relaxing at home and knitting.
I was quite pleasantly surprised at the birthday party, this year there were only 3 two year olds in attendance. For the most part the little guys just wanted to get into to every possible thing their parents didn't want them to touch. Last year there were probably 10 kids ranging in age from 1 to 11 all crammed in one room, as it was raining. Let me tell you I wasn't looking forward to a repeat. What I learned from that experience was never give a child on a sugar high marakas .... enough said.
The bachelorette party and bridal shower were quite fun. The bridal shower was in SF, so I thought I could head over to Imagiknit on the way home. Well parking in the Castro is almost non-existent and the store was open as I was circling trying to find a spot. Five minutes later, I am still circling and I look at the sign in the window to see a "Closed" sign... Somehow I really pissed off the yarn gods. Or they decided my stash was big enough. But the next weekend, after the wedding I did make it to Imagiknit. Of course after that I just had to buy something right?

to make this

My poor husband just looked at me... and then picked out the Jaegar mens book and said I want this

When did he become Mister Rogers? I have never in all my life seen him in a cardigan.
Well not much on the knitting front this week. I thought I lost one of the rectangles for the "Martini" poncho in Cotton Braid but I found it!! It was right on top of the Bouton D'Or sweater that I just need to put together. I think it was trying to tell me something.
Living quite a distance from work definitely has it's drawbacks sometimes. I am trying to post this as I am listening to my husband rattle around muttering about not being able to get his hands on his new computer. He can't be here during the window that UPS will be delivering the computer, so he will not see the computer until next week. Unfortunately this is a very upsetting thing for him to realize first thing in the morning. Boys and their toys :)
