No Luck

I always find the patterns that are just a little off.. I finally heard back from a person at Katia and I was right it was a tad off. I should have started my increases earlier and followed the diagram not what the pattern said. Of course this is after I completed the back. I actually don't think it looks that off. Time to get the opinions of the girls at SnB, they will set me straight.

In other news, I get to work this weekend but I have Friday off. Not sure if that is a good or bad trade, considering I will be working late on Thursday.

At Last

Finally, the site is unveiled. Tell me what you think. Let me know if you like the left column or not.. that is an addtion. That is if anyone out there is reading this, as it isn't updated on any kind of regular basis. I am trying to get into the habit.

Well I started two projects since my last entry. One Katia pattern from last years summer book and the cotton braid poncho from Rowan "Martini". The poncho is zooming along, but on size 17's creating two rectangles isn't that difficult. The Katia pattern has been more challenging. It called for a tubular caston, which ended up looking like well an open birds mouth ( > ) with 2 flaps of fabric. Not attractive! So I didn't use the tubular caston but did the required rows of tubular knittiing and I actually like the edge. So we will see.

Other than that I did take a mahine knitting class and I am enthralled with how quickly you can create stockinette. Even with that I didn't come home with a new toy, maybe someday.

Almost Ready to Unveil

Well the new look is almost ready to unveil, I just have some minor tweaking to do. I think I messed up Miss Becky's nice clean design ;) After she gives me thumbs up or down I will post it.

Not much knitting accomplished this week. I cast on for a Katia sweater which calls a tublar cast on and tubular knitting for the first three rows. Let's just say the hem and first three rows will fit a 10 year old and I haven't seen 10 in awhile. I think I need to do is cast on with needles at least one size larger than I am using for the body as the tubular cast on has no give. Has anyone out there ever had any luck with a Katia pattern? Between having to recalculate the guage and figure out how to get a hem that will fit an adult, I am wondering about their patterns. (I know it's probably just me)

Updating I swear

Well, if anyone is reading this I promise to update it frequently. Especially as I have seen what this site is going to become. Miss Becky has done a wonderful job with the layout. If I don't update reqularly, it won't do the makeover justice.

Oh, is this cheating? I am going to take a machine knitting class on Sunday... sssshhhhhhh don't tell.

I also have a picture of my grandmother in the noro entralec jacket that I will post soon. She is so happy with it, she takes it everywhere.
