Lost in Translation

Literally, I am working on translating a Phildar pattern for these cute diaper covers.

The front is knit in one piece, then separated into 3 different pieces for the decreases and then knit as one from the middle of the legs up through the back. For some reason, I couldn't quite grasp the separation of the front. I kept thinking that I had to cast off at both sides and then of course the numbers weren't quite working out, they were double to be precise. After, you look at the chart and then calculate your numbers and give up on your preconceived ideas of how it should work, the pattern begins to make sense.

In other news, I succeeded in catching a cold. I think the worst is over, I just have a stuffy nose and feel a little draggy. I keep picturing going into labor and trying to use the breathing techniques we learned in class. Let me tell you since I can't breathe through my nose it won't happen, I will pass out. So I am hoping she sticks to her timeline and doesn't come early (or at least not for the next couple of days).

Tiffany, what language is the pattern written in? If it's in German, I'd be happy to help you out with the translation. If it's in French, I'm afraid I won't be much help.

I've been planning that diaper cover for several weeks. Did you order Phil'Eponge or are you using a sub? I don't really like or want to use Eponge but I can't decide what to use. Any ideas?
