Finished Object Alert
Finally something is finished.. Well almost, I still need to weave in the ends and block the CRAP out of it! The "it" being mentioned is the braided neckpiece by Teva Durham from Loop-d-Loop. It should have been a really quick knit, I could list a dozen excuses as to why it took 2 months but I won't. The yarn used was Margrite Bulky from Karabella, I think it might have needed a yarn with a touch more substance. You wouldn't want a lot of substance but a touch more would have been great. The Margrite just has a little too much drape. We will see how it looks after the blocking, maybe I will change my mind. Pic's will be posted after blocking the HELL OUT of it.
For some fashion fun with pics, head over to the the Bad Sweater Guy. You finally see pics of eighties sweaters and a guy who wore them. Thankfully the sweaters look machine knit, I would hate to think of someone putting all of that work into some of those fugly sweaters.

GAH - I have Y.A.S.
I moved most of my stash. I was just kind of hurling things in the bins, WIP and all. After 3 large bins and a small chest and one of those 3 drawer plastic thingies, I still need to move a cedar chest and some misc. yarn stashed in strategic places in my closet. You know in the shoe boxes behind the long jackets in pockets. Where ever you can stash yarn and the better half won't find it. Can you say I have Y.A.S.
I can't believe my stash fits into 3 large tubs, not including the 2 philosopher’s wool kits, an Alice starmore kit, the cedar chest, the drawer thingie and misc. yarn from mystery spots. I was moving fast so my husband didn't get too good of a look at all of it.. I guess I can't delude myself and say it fits in the 3 bins ;) The funniest thing was I found an entire sweater, I just needed to finish it.
I am planning on sorting it soon, I will post pics. Or maybe I won't it's kind of embarassing to see all the WIPs and my huge stash...

Almost Friday
I can't wait!!!! We are moving so we are 1/2 in the new house and 1/2 out of the old house. So I can't wait to use the three days to finish moving.
Part of what is left at the old house is my huge stash. I don't even want to know how much yarn is sitting there. Being the hoarder that I am, I will not even consider parting with it :) The move of the stash also needs to be done in secret, can't let the DH see the mounds of yarn. I will also need to inventory the WIP as part of the move... UGH that will be soo depressing to see the proof of my startitis and short attention span.
Now on to the questions for SP 7. Here you go secret pal, everyone else read 'me if you want.

Happy New Year
As usual I am a little late :) and predictably my resolution is to be a better blogger in 2006.
Anyway, the holidays were a lot of fun. Miss A had a great time on her first Christmas, although she wasn't quite sure what to do with the presents. But she loved the boxes and ribbon, which made me paranoid. It's hard to relax when everything goes into the Miss A's mouth. Of course I have to post a picture of her modeling the handknit uggs and hat from a family friend.

I also had a great knitting Christmas (gotta love the knitting gifts).

The Touch Me is going to be Vintage Velvet, if I ever get around to knitting anything for myself. The envelope is a gift certificate to my favorite knitting store Imagiknit (my mom still spoils me).
The Touch Me is an awesome brown/black that will look wonderful as Vintage Velvet (definitely have to get my act in gear).

In actual, knitting news I have completed the first 1/2 of the braided neckpiece by Teva Durham.

It is a fun, easy, no brain knit. The construction makes it look a lot more interesting than the actual knitting. I really like the yarn that I chose for the scarf.
It's Karabella's Margrite Bulky a blend of cashmere and extra-fine merino. My only complaint about this yarn is that the center pull balls aren't really center pull. I keep ending up with a huge tangled mess that I end up re-winding. Being the queen of laziness, it's irritating that you have to wind a center pull ball.
